ANNOUNCING SEVEN CAREER ACADEMIES FOR 2018!

College of Marin and the Marin County Office of Education offer these special courses exclusively for high school students and recent grads. These classes have limited space – and are FREE – so get filled fast. Application is required; apply early!

STEP 1:  APPLY

SPRING

  • Fri. Dec 1 – Application opens for Spring Education Careers Academy
  • Fri. Jan 26 – Application closes for Spring Education Careers Academy
  • Mon. Jan 29 – Students notified of acceptance

SUMMER

  • Mon. April 2 – Application opens for Summer Academies
  • Sun. May 6 – Application closes for Summer Academies
  • Fri. May 11 – Students notified of acceptance

STEP 2:  ATTEND AN ORIENTATION

Once enrolled, students must attend one of these for summer academies

  • Sat. May 19, 10-11:30am at Marin County Office of Education

Interested in a career in education?

Join College of Marin and the Marin Office of Education for a five-day exploration, including college tours, classroom visits and more. Learn about early childhood, elementary, middle, athletic, and special education.

 

Career Exploration Academy

Career Exploration
4 Days June 18-21

Career Exploration is a credit-earning opportunity to delve into understanding yourself and how you can best pursue your interests and use your skills given the career market.

Students earn a one-unit, CSU transferable credit for course completion!

Introduction to Game Development

5 Days, June 18-22

Learn how to create a video game using Unity gaming software!

Unity is the engine behind almost 1/3 of top games and storytelling projects and is used by Coca-Cola, Disney, Electronic Arts, LEGO, Microsoft, NASA, Nexon, Nickelodeon, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Obsidian, Insomniac and Warner Bros.

Interested in the solar industry? The Solar Energy academy will provide students an in depth working knowledge of residential photovoltaic system design and installation.

Explore careers in the leading industry for career growth.

This academy provides an overview of the health industry and students can earn 2 college credits completion!

  • You can sign up for more than one class.
  • Some classes require application for entry.
  • Most classes approximately 9am-3pm daily.
